The internet opens up communications to millions of people, so its only natural that you meet a few of them along your own journey. Some of them you will be glad you met, others not so much. Sadly, most of the people you meet probably won’t be worth keeping in touch with.Communication Picture

You have to communicate. If you just keep to yourself, and never talk to other people in your field, you will never go anywhere. I really don’t think it is even possible to make a blog or website without communicating, even if you try. Communication will bring you business connections. Knowing a guy, that knows a guy, who knows this lady’s cousin of a guy’s brother’s uncles sister is more valuable than not knowing anyone. No matter how distant the connection, a connection is a connection.

In my time online, I have met thousands of people. I probably speak with 5 of them on a regular basis, and the rest just sit on my contact list. Some of them are good people, some of them have scammed me, screwed me over, etc., but like I said before, “A connection is a connection”. I have one person on my list that scammed me out of $225 back when I first started my online business journey. Then I have people on my list that have helped me greatly along the way.

Forums like Digital Point are a great way to gain connections with other webmasters. There are people on there making the big bucks. Once a week you see a new post on there from a member telling how they finally had their first $10,000 month, while you see others whining about how they are in a slump, and only made $12,489 last month. Boo frickin hoo, right? But anyway, Digital Point is a great place to look for connections, whether you be yourself, or social engineer a bit, pretend to be something or not to get in someones good side, etc. Just be careful who you trust, because no matter how well-known a site is, there are always going to be thieves present.

Communicate Communicate Communicate. Without it you will amount to nothing online. Period. I just hope you decide to be like one of the 5 people I actually bother to talk to. Honest,  trustworthy, and a pretty low chance that they are going to screw me over.
